Become A Mentor

Are you an experienced member ready to give back? Are you interested in offering encouragement and feedback? We are excited to launch The Photo Managers Mentoring Program and need your help.

Mentoring relationships are a shared opportunity for learning and growth. Many mentors say that the rewards they gain are as substantial as those for their mentees.

“I enjoyed revisiting some of my early steps in starting my business as I answered my mentee’s questions and I felt that they really valued my ideas. I am looking forward to remaining in contact with my mentee and watching their business grow!”

“If you have time to give back to the community that has been there to support us throughout our careers, I highly recommend joining TPM Mentor program. In just a few hours, you can impact not only a new organizer but all the people they will go on to help in the future!”

“Being a Mentor opened a new door to meet & support a colleague just starting out who was not certain where to turn for help. Volunteering just a couple of hours of my time a month and being willing to listen, I became aware of some very valid issues my mentee was experiencing. I was able to present a brighter, more positive perspective, along with areas of caution when starting out. These Mentor sessions made the difference in my Mentee continuing to pursue her dream instead of giving up.”

Time Commitment:
We want to protect your time and set clear expectations for the mentee. This mentoring program is meant to be short-term with a clear beginning and end date. The goal is for you to meet with your mentee for a total of 4 hours over six weeks. You set the best parameters that work best for you, such as four one-hour or two meetings.

Requirements for becoming a Mentor:

TPM certified
A willingness to listen and offer advice based on experience.
An understanding of where the resources are on the TPM site to direct the mentee for further assistance if needed.
Available 4 hours over six weeks, one or two-hour blocks.

The Photo Managers team will introduce you to your mentee through an email and match you with someone looking for support in your area of interest.
