I think the exact names depends on what software (iPhoto or Photos) was used to create the original catalog and the upgrade path, but the folder can be called “masters” or “originals.” If you’re looking for the original digital photos then copy the “originals” folder.
Another helpful step would be to change your view settings so that the Finder who’s the size for all files and folders. If you do that you’ll probably discovered the “originals” folder is huge and the other holders are relatively small.
