Adam, never mind! I have figured it out. The pedal plugs into the accessory port and that is different from the USB port.  I think I miss-understood the icon for the accessory port (bottom left port). That is where the pedal plugs in.  And the USB cable goes in the A/V out port on the top right.  Just had a bit of a brain blip, too much studying today and it’s been a long week! Thanks!

Adam, I was in the middle of ordering my camera scanning equipment when I first read this a few weeks ago.  It sounded so helpful to be able to scan hands-free, so I ordered one.  It arrived today, and was custom made to connect with my Nikon D5300, but of course, now I’m confused.  I realized I don’t really know how to hook this up.  In Peter’s book I read that to tether to Lightroom, I am to connect my camera to the USB port on my computer, which makes sense to me.  But I’m unclear on where or how to hook up the pedal.  I am worried I ordered it incorrectly since it needs to work with Lightroom, not just with my camera.  I confirmed my camera is a model that can tether with Lightroom, but can you explain how and where to connect the pedal?  I’ll try to attach a picture of the connections on my camera. (Thank you for your patience as I work through all this!)

Just FYI, I tried to order the Skier copy box yesterday and they are now out of stock.  I am waiting on an email back to see if and when they will be available again. I may need alternative equipment suggestions!
