After losing my mom in 2013, I returned to my job only to be laid off a day later. I am not one to sit around so I started a bookkeeping business. I was successful in getting clients right away. One of the calls I received was from an older gentleman who was a retired builder. He told me he needed his books closed out and some final accounting. He hired me at our initial meet and greet. However, closing his books was not what he had me do. I helped him and his sweet wife begin the process of downsizing their home along with some other projects that pertained more to professional organizing. One of the projects he had me do was scan their printed photos, add keywords to the scans and create folders on the computer for the pictures. He would sit next to me at the computer day after day and tell me about his family, their travel adventures and about his life. I enjoyed my time with them so much. They often joked that they were telling all their friends about me and what I was doing for them that their friends wanted my phone number too. His wife would laugh and tell me she is not sharing me. I was getting so many bookkeeping clients I had to stop working with them. At that time I had no idea that my love of organizing and preserving memories could be a business opportunity. I was so happy to come across The Photo Managers and create Beechwood Photo Organizing.
