Mr. Holroyd was employed by Eastman Kodak for 29 years and then was employed by Kodak Alaris for 3 years until he took early retirement. He then started his own business - Digital Scan Solutions. Mr. Holroyd held a variety of increasingly responsible positions in product development, and in business and product management. Mr. Holroyd was the World Wide Product Manager for Kodak's Photo Scanning Products for the past ten years prior to his retirement from Kodak. Prior to this, he worked on systems that scanned microfilm and paper documents.
Mr. Holroyd grew up in Rochester, NY, home to Eastman Kodak Company and now Kodak Alaris. He helped his dad, Robert, copy valuable family photos borrowed from relatives both in the United States and Europe, to aid his dad's genealogy research.
Mr. Holroyd holds 6 U.S. patents, and has received the Master of Information Technologies from AIIM (Association for Image and Information Management). He has served on the AIIM International's Standards Board (1991 – 1997, 2004 - 2010).
Mr. Holroyd received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y., and earlier, an A.A.S in Electrical Engineering Technology from Alfred State College, Alfred, N.Y.
