I joined this past spring and let me tell you…The Photo Managers is AWESOME!!! You’re going to learn so much and everyone I have met so far has been incredible, so helpful and knowledgeable. Take advantage of as many classes as you can, and organize yourself as soon as possible, there is a lot to learn. 💡🙂 I too am good at the designing of books and love it, and like you, have a lot to learn when it comes to the organization of photos. Feel free to reach out if you want to connect with me, I’m in the same boat you’re in and would love to learn together and encourage each other.
Enjoy the ride…you’re going to love it! 💕 KatherineJuly 28, 2020 at 11:02am in reply to: Webinar: Understanding User Agreements: Basics for the Non-Attorney #15542
I asked about downloading slides for this webinar in the wrong forum, but I meant to ask about it for this webinar. Are we able to download any of the slides from this webinar? 🙂
Are we able to download any of the slides presented in this webinar?
Ooops…I asked about the wrong webinar. I am interested in the slides in the User Agreements webinar. Sorry 🙁
So, if we post in the wrong forum, how can we delete it?
No worries, life gets busy and you’re certainly very busy. I would actually love to talk to you about archival storage, maybe we can chat over text or email. I am looking to get some storage boxes and love the double sided boxes shown in some of the presentations but I am having a hard time finding them in the website, so I would love a little help. 🙂 I am getting organized and going through the training so no need to rush, just let me know when you have a free moment.
Have a great day!
Thank you for the warm welcome, I am really loving this community already! 🙂 It’s nice meeting you.
I appreciate your comments, they help a lot. I can be an overachiever at times and demand too much of myself and so I WAS feeling like I needed to be an expert. But I think you’re correct when you say that I probably already know more than most of my participants. (I hope you’re right. lol) I tend to jump too soon at times but it’s only because I want to help so much. And that’s ok, this forces me to follow my passion, regardless of my life’s distractions.
I would also love to hear about what you do in this business. Have you been a member long?
Thank you for the welcome, it’s nice meeting you. I apologize for my little mishap above, responding to Rebecca under you, no more trying to chat on my iPad without my glasses…lol.
Anyhow, I am super excited about the presentation, but nervous at the same time. I am spending a lot of time going through Cathi’s presentation and Adam’s training so that I can have a nice presentation. But it really helps to hear from other members and being reassured that I don’t have to know it all right now, just enough to get everyone started. I just want to make sure I don’t misguide anyone. So all suggestions are welcomed. 🙂 Luckily the first presentation is only about 45 minutes long so it should be easy enough. I think I will do a questionnaire to find out what people are looking for and encourage everyone to come back to start working on their collections. And then of course cover the basics.
I would love to lear about you and what aspect of this business you work on.
Thank you for the warm welcome. I guess I actually responded to you under Kathy’s welcome to me 🙁 This is what happens when you work on the iPad without glasses. Oh my!
Anyhow, I am loving this, so excited to get back to what I love. There is so much information that it is a bit overwhelming, but AWESOME too!
Thank you for the warm welcome, I am incredibly excited to be a member of the Photo Managers. 🙂 I am getting comfortable with the website, it’s great and full of learning resources. I just need to soak it all in.
Hello from Post Falls, Idaho. 🙂
I am super excited about having found this group, I only wish I had found it years ago. I have always loved everything having to do with photography and preserving our memories, but have been busy raising my kiddos and working full time as a senior project manager for a translating agency. My kids are now grown, 16 & 19, and I have finally decided to come back to what I love…photos!
I was always the one collecting photos from friends and families and making calendars and books for everyone, but because my work at the translating agency kept me so busy for so many years I no longer had the time or energy to do what I love. Things have slowed down so I am pursuing what I love. I am really behind, so much has changed since I did this many years ago that I have some serious catching up to do. Before the Covid-19 shutdown my church started a “Creative Nights” program where they asked for volunteers to lead classes in cooking, painting, photography, etc. I, excited to see this, offered to do a workshop in organizing your photos…I’m super excited about it, but I am now thinking I may have jumped too soon? I started preparing for it and realized how behind I am. So…..I am scrambling to learn as much as I can. Years ago I ran workshops where I helped people put digital scrapbooks together so I am comfortable in that aspect, but this is different. But, now that I am committed this is forcing me to pursue what I love doing without any excuses and I’m excited to take it on and start my new business.
In the meantime, I did sign up for the full training sessions and am hoping to eventually get certified as a Photo Manager. I plan on going to next year’s Summit and am looking forward to meeting other members. 🙂 I’m excited to be a part of such an awesome group!
Thank you Adam, I am going through the Certification training right now, I guess I have not come across any of the pricing section, if there is one. But I appreciate the link, I will check it out. I appreciate all the input…always!!! 🙂
Hello Adam and Jonathan, my name is Katherine Becker and I am new in the group, I am pleased to meet you both 🙂. I used to organize photos many years ago and am excited to get back into it and turning it into a business, but I have a lot to learn because so much has changed since I used to do it 20+ years ago. I hope you don’t mind me jumping into this conversation but I am very interested in figuring this out as well, being so new at this. Are there ever any webinars offered on this subject to help us newbies get started, or find a starting point? I understand that pricing can vary greatly on the services offered and even the area you live in, but maybe a “Basics in Pricing” type webinar?
